On the Field

Michael Jack Schmidt is a former Major League Baseball third baseman who played his entire career for the Philadelphia Phillies from 1972-1989.  Schmidt is considered among the greatest third basemen in the history of major league baseball. Schmidt was voted National League MVP three times, an All-Star 12 times, and received more votes than any other third baseman in 1999's Major League Baseball All-Century Team. In 1995, he was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame.

Off the Field

Mike Schmidt has worked as a TV Commenter for Phillies games, wrote articles on baseball for CBS. Mike Schmidt has a life long contract with the Phillies and coached hitting for the Phillies also managed a minor league ball club on the Phillies system (Clearwater Threshers).  He regularly participates and competes in charity golf tournaments.  He also hosts the annual Bahamas Winner Circle Invitational Fishing Tournament to benefit Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.  In Mike’s Book, “Clearing the Bases: Juiced Players, Shrinking Ballparks, Sham Records, and a Hall of Famer’s Search for the Soul of Baseball”, was published, serving as his definitive statement about the state of the game he loves so much and played so well. Mike currently serves as a board member and advocate of the RDK Melanoma Foundation in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Rolf Benirschke
CEO, Legacy Health Strategies
Former NFL Placekicker

Rolf Benirschke is CEO of Legacy Health Strategies, a patient engagement company, and founder of The Grateful Patient Project.  As a former NFL placekicker, his ten-year career was nearly derailed during his third season by a life-threatening battle with ulcerative colitis that required two emergency surgeries six days apart. After a miraculous comeback, he returned to play seven more seasons with the San Diego Chargers, and earned numerous honors including Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year, NFL Comeback Player of the Year, All-Pro, and became the twentieth player inducted into the Chargers Hall of Fame.

Following his NFL career, Rolf has dedicated his life to supporting patients and is now a respected leader and speaker in the health care industry.  He works tirelessly as a patient advocate and is active in supporting legislation that encourages research and innovation and protects patients.  He is married and the father of four children, including three with special needs. He is also the author of three books, including his autobiography, Alive & Kicking.
