Innovators Meet Legislators
Each year Life Sciences Pennsylvania provides a platform for our member companies to come to Harrisburg, receive a short briefing on the latest issues, and attend meetings with key legislators and staff.
Much like Advocacy Day from previous years, we will be conducting meetings with key legislators and staff over a span of three days by virtual platform. This year more than ever, it is vital for our industry to be updating policymakers on your company and the promise your drug, therapy, device or diagnostic holds for patients.
We will kick off Advocacy Days with a briefing designed to update you on the current status of things in Harrisburg as well as lay out the week’s schedule. We invite you to block 8:30 – 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 27 for this briefing. Also, when registering, we ask that you provide us with your availability those days for meetings and will we will come back to you as we approach the week with a meeting agenda that fits your schedule.
The hallmark of effective advocacy is the ability to tell your story. You don’t need to study public policy or be up-to-date on the latest policy debates to be effective. You simply need to have a concise description of your company, demonstrate your passion for innovation, and explain who it will help. Realizing that most legislators are not regularly exposed to the life sciences and are not scientists themselves, this is a great opportunity to educate and inform all of our new legislators in Harrisburg.
